The first Rotary Club formed in the Volunteer State was that of Nashville. Shortly thereafter, the clubs of Memphis and Chattanooga were formed. Then came Knoxville in 1915 and the Rotary Club of Jackson on August 1, 1916. The Rotary Club of Jackson is only the fifth club chartered in Tennesseeand, today, is the second longest-serving club in District 6760 - middle and west Tennessee, outside metropolitan Memphis.
The club’s first president was Mr. W. C. Fox in 1916, followed shortly thereafter, later in 1916, by Dr. A. B. Dancy. A full listing of past presidents may be found HERE. The club’s president today, Mr. Blake Williams, leads one of West Tennessee’s premier service organizations with nearly 140 members who support charitable and service projects across the community and around the world.
