District Governor of Rotary District 6760 to

Address the Jackson Rotary Club

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:  The district governor (DG) of Rotary district 6760, representing one of the world's largest and most influential service and organizations, Rotary International (RI), will speak to the Jackson Rotary Club on Wednesday, August 10, 2005 at 12:00 Noon.  DG Glen Vanderford is the ranking officer in the district, which officially proscribes the area of Tennessee “… west of the western boundaries of Macon, Trousdale, Wilson, Cannon, Coffee, Bedford and Lincoln [counties]”.  The district is comprised of 65 Rotary clubs and approximately 3,700 Rotarians.  The visit will mark his official visit to the Jackson Rotary Club during this Rotary Year.  It is anticipated that the DG will discuss the past Centennial Year and upcoming District projects, as well as recognize the role of the Jackson Rotary Club during this landmark time in the history of Rotary. 

 

Glen Vanderford is a resident of Jackson, Tennessee.  He is a Territory Sales Manager for Mead Johnson of Evansville, Indiana, a Bristol-Myers Squibb Company.  He is a native Memphian and graduate of LambuthUniversity.  He is a charter member and past president of the JacksonOld HickoryRotary Club.

 

The Jackson Rotary Club, the oldest in rural West Tennessee, is an organization of business and professional leaders united to provide humanitarian service, encourage high ethical standards in all vocations and help build goodwill and peace in the world.  The Club focuses on four key areas of service: Club Service, Vocational Service, Community Service and International Service.  The Club was formed in August of 1916 as only the fifth Rotary Club in the State of Tennessee and has a long history of service.  The Club meets weekly on Wednesdays at Noon at the Jackson Country Club.  For more information on the JacksonRotary Club visit www.jacksonrotaryclub.com.  For more about Rotary International visit the Rotary International website at www.rotary.info
