2005-2006 Rotary Year

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:  Recently, the Jackson Rotary Club announces several awards received from Rotary International (RI), RI District 6760, and those issued to its members for the Rotary Year 2004-2005, the Centennial Year of RI.  Awards received and issued are as follows:

 

International-level Awards                                                                                                    

 

100% Paul Harris Fellow Club Certification – Jackson Rotary Club 

Note: As of this date, the Jackson Rotary Club is the Only 100% Paul Harris Fellow club in Rotary International Zone 30 (Ohio to the Gulf Coast), including District 6760 of Middle and West Tennessee.  Each member of a 100% Paul Harris Fellow Club must contribute or arrange for contributions to The Rotary Foundation of $1,000.00 or more.  In 2004-2005, The Jackson Rotary Club’s members contributed over $80,000.00 to The Rotary Foundation for its good works, such as the PolioPlus Campaign that has immunized 2 Billion children against this horrific disease since its inception.

Service Above Self Award – Frank McMeen

 

A special presentation was made by State Representative Jimmy Eldridge of Jackson, as both a member of the Tennessee House of Representatives and a member of the Jackson Rotary Club.  Recently, the Tennessee House of Representatives passed a resolution congratulating the Jackson Rotary Club, and especially its outgoing president, Dee Ann Culbreath for community service achievements and dedication to the people of Tennessee.  (See photos attached)

 

 

The Jackson Rotary Club, the second oldest in District 6760 and fourth oldest in the State of Tennessee, is an organization of business and professional leaders united to provide humanitarian service, encourage high ethical standards in all vocations and help build goodwill and peace in the world.  The Club focuses on Four Avenues of Service: Club Service, Vocational Service, Community Service and International Service.  The Club was formed in August of 1916.
