Jackson Rotary Club

Wednesday Lunch Meeting

September 8, 2010

Rose Ann Donnell

Donnell Century Farms

Topic: West TN State Fair

What is the longest-running community event in Madison County history?  The West Tennessee State Fair originated in the mid-19th century and is still drawing crowds!

Rose Ann Donnell will acquaint us with the many facets of this annual event.  If the rides make you queasy, don't despair.  There's something at the fair for every age and interest.

Rotary International has a center for online learning. It's very convenient, informative and helpful to new and seasoned Rotarians alike. The section has been developed for independent study of RI information. Rotary International is the association of Rotary clubs; therefore, all training aims to educate Rotarians who are members of effective clubs.

Effective clubs are able to:

  • Sustain and increase membership.
  • Implement successful service projects.
  • Support The Rotary Foundation.
  • Develop leaders beyond the club level.

FAMILY OF ROTARY

7/6/10

Houston & Hope Sipes are still at the Tennessee State Veterans Home located at 2865 Main Street, Humboldt, TN 38343….Room #25.  They are taking good care of him according to the family.  Hope is still at Jackson Oaks, 842 N Parkway, Jackson, TN 38305.  She has had a few falls recently but is doing better.  Please send cards and let them know we care.

Hugh Truex has been better but now has pneumonia.    Please send cards to Maplewood Health Care, 100 Cherrywood Place, Room 203-B, Jackson, TN 38305.  …lets keep him and Judy in our prayers and don’t forget to send a card.

Bob Conger is about the same.  Virginia is having to get outside help…she is not able to care for all of his needs.   If you have a few minutes call and go by and visit with them, they are such nice people.  You can reach Virginia at 427-2626 and address is 590 Westmoreland, Jackson, TN 38301

Sully Sullivan is still having problems walking but he is not giving up.  He still has his wit and is such a sweetheart.   Take the time to visit Sully…he will definitely make your day.  . His phone number is 427-0102 and his address is Morningside, 1200 N Parkway, Room 114, Jackson, TN 38305.

Gordon Sipes …is in therapy and doing really good.    You may call Gordon at his home 668-4757 or send cards to 8 Norton Drive, Jackson, TN 38305.

Let’s let them know “Rotary Cares”!

In Rotary, we are a family. Help to keep us informed when other Rotarians are in need.

Marie Wilson is the Rotarian in charge of keeping up with illnesses in our Rotary family and you can contact her with such news at 422-1668 or marie@emprint.com or contact Tom Aud at 668-2896 or tomaud@gmail.com. Thank you.
