Jackson Rotary Club meetings on December 20th and 27th have been cancelled in observance of Christmas and the New Year.
 
Jackson Rotary Club members are supporting the Salvation Army again this year through donations and volunteerism. Together, we will help to fully staff the kettles with 100% volunteers, again this year. Thank you.

The JACKSON ROTARY CLUB wishes to acknowledge its New! RY 2006-07 club website sponsor, the West Tennessee Healthcare Physician Recruiting Program. The Program will fully-underwrite our Club's expenses related to the licensing and maintenance of our Club's on-line presence. ABOUT OUR SPONSOR
The West Tennessee Healthcare Physician Recruiting Program is proud to support the members of the Medical Staff at Jackson-Madison County General Hospital and at its other healthcare facilities through active support of local physician recruitment efforts. Based upon community need, the Program provides this support through cooperative efforts with existing physician practices and clinics. The program offers financial incentives and other assistance to new or practicing physicians to relocate to counties served by West Tennessee Healthcare hospitals. Incentives include first-year compensation guarantees, transition advances and (most recently) medical loan repayment assistance.

The Board of the Jackson Rotary Club has voted to contribute $10,000.00 toward The Rotary Foundation. These funds will be used to match personal contributions, so that each contributing Rotarian can have his/her contribution matched dollar-for-dollar, until these resources are gone.

SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM

LAST CHANCE!
The Jackson Rotary Foundation Scholarship Committee is pleased to announce that it will award a scholarship of Twenty Thousand ($20,000.00) Dollars for the 2007-2008 school year. The scholarship is for undergraduate or graduate study in another country, with the goal of the scholarship being to contribute to international understanding through study abroad.
An applicant must meet the following qualifications to be considered:
1. He or she must be a legal resident of Madison County, Tennessee, or a resident in a degree-awarding college located in Madison County, Tennessee for the school year preceding the scholarship year;
2. He or she must have completed two (2) years of college prior to the scholarship year;
3. He or she must be between the ages of 19 and 24 as of the application deadline, December 31, 2006; and
4. He or she must be single and agree to remain single during the scholarship year.
Applications may be obtained at the club secretary’s desk. The winner will be announced by March 1, 2007.
