"G'day Message" to Aussie Friends!
...expanding our Family of Rotary around the world!
"Greetings to all Rotarians in the Land Down Under from your extended Rotary family in Tennessee.
We are very excited to continue to strengthen our relationship with your district. We have enjoyed an alliance established through the Youth Exchange Program over the past several years, thanks to a close friendship that our district leadership team has with yours. Many of our Youth Exchange Students have been blest receiving the warm hospitality you shared during their stay in Western Australia, particularly D9470.
District 6760 In Tennessee looks forward to the upcoming Group Study Exchange (GSE) in the Spring of 2006. Both the Inbound Team and Outbound Team members will enjoy the experiences given them through the GSE program.
Our district also looks forward in hosting our Rotary friends from Down Under through the Friendship Exchange, July-August 2006. We invite you to come and enjoy Tennessee with points of interest such as "The Grand Ole Opry" (home of Country Music) to "Graceland" (home of Elvis, King of Rock and Roll). So, make plans to join in this toe tapping - hip shaking - sightseeing experience with the Southern Hospitality of Tennessee, USA.
Ya'll Come - 2006 !!!!"

CLARKSVILLE ROTARY CLUB
SETS AUCTION DATE

Members of the Clarksville Rotary Club have begun soliciting donations from area businesses for the annual Clarksville Rotary Auction, to be held January 28 at the Clarksville Country Club. Proceeds from the auction will be used for the construction of a Habitat for Humanity House to be sponsored by the club, according to Ed Adkins, club president. "This auction is our biggest fundraising project of the year which is used to support various Clarksville Rotary community projects," said Ed Adkins, club president. Tickets to the auction, which includes a fabulous dinner, are available from any club member for $75. Entertainment will be provided by comedian Jim Gossett, a former Clarksville resident who makes his living as a corporate entertainer and voice-over artist. Rotarians are calling on business prospects who have made donations to previous auctions, but the club is accepting donations of any unused items of value for the auction.

A Special Opportunity is Still Available,
But only until December 31, 2005
It is not often that the U.S. government and IRS provide us with a unique fund development opportunity but that is just what has happened in recent weeks. Between now and December 31, 2005, individuals are allowed to make withdrawals from IRA’s, 401K’s or other tax deferred accounts, give the proceeds to a recognized charity such as The Rotary Foundation and not pay any penalty or tax on the funds withdrawn.
Each individuals tax situation is different, thus, to be certain of the benefits provided by the Katrina Tax Relief Act please consult your own tax advisors before making a retirement fund withdrawal. Specific questions can be directed to TRF Planned Giving Officer Karena Bierman at 847-866-3100 or biermank@rotaryintl.org or Michael Smith at 847-866-3220 or smithmi@rotaryintl.org.
