DISTRICT 6760 LEADERSHIP ACADEMY
(The following taken from District 6760 Leadership Academy Webpages)
Every Rotarian in District 6760 has the opportunity to broaden and deepen his or her knowledge about Rotary, our Club and RI programs worldwide. This is an opportunity to further develop your Rotary & Personal leadership abilities and potential. Consider applying for and participating in the District 6760 Leadership Academy.
Annually, Club Presidents and Past Presidents, as well as other club and district officers, Past District Governors, Assistant Governors, and committee chairs may, and are urged to, nominate at least one outstanding member from each of the District's clubs. In the past the Rotary Club of Jackson has done so upon knowledge of interest by one of its members.
Top Rotarians from the District will be selected to participate during the upcoming year. Rotary year 2000-2001 was the first year for the Academy, initiated by District Governor Paul Sands, and it has been a resounding success under the leadership of PDG John Butler. A new class is selected each year, and persons not selected during a given year will have future opportunities to participate.
What is expected of participants? Each individual MUST:

Each participant will be provided a set of resources, materials published by Rotary International, such the ABCs of Rotary and Manual of Procedures, and our own District 6760 District Directory and Rules of Procedure. Lessons are completed and sent or faxed to the Rotarian instructor who prepared the particular lesson. All instructors are Past District Governors.
The cost of the Academy is minimal—about $60 for all resources. Travel to the closing seminar will vary according depending upon location. In 2005 it was held at the Renaissance Center in Dickson, Tennessee. Class Members' clubs are asked to cover all costs for theAcademy.
The Academy will provide District 6760 with better prepared leadership, Governors, Assistant Governors, committee chairs, as well as local club leaders. Participants genuinely enjoy learning about the great service club of which they are members.
