"The Centennial Year of Rotary International saw the Jackson Rotary Club receive a number of awards for its commitment to the community and to Rotary. The Jackson Rotary Club is the only Rotary in International Zone 30 (Ohio to the Gulf Coast) to be recognized as a 100 percent Paul Harris Fellow club – an international-level award. Each member of the 100 percent Paul Harris Fellow club must contribute or arrange for contributions to the Rotary Foundation of $1,000 or
more."
"According to the local club, in 2004-2005, the Jackson Rotary Club’s members contributed more than $80,000 to the foundation, which engages in philanthropic endeavors such as the PolioPlus Campaign that has immunized more than two billion children against the disease. Other international-level awards include the Presidential Citation for 2004-2005 for the entire club as well as outgoing president Dee Ann Culbreath earning the Rotary Foundation Award for Individual
Achievement."
"District-level awards earned by the club were Outstanding Achievement for a Club, Community Service Award for a club and Best Centennial Service Project for a club. Dee Ann Culbreath also was recognized as District Rotarian of the Year."
"On the club level, Mike Harris was recognized as Club Rotarian of the Year, Frank McMeen was recognized with the Service Above Self Award and the Four Avenues of Service Award receipients were James Dusenberry (Outstanding Vocational Service), Susan Hays (Outstanding International
Service), Vicki Lake (Outstanding Community Service) and Kevin B[arron] (Outstanding Club Service). A special presentation was made by State Rep. Jimmy Eldridge (R-Jackson), who is also a member of the Jackson Rotary Club. Recently, the Tennessee House of Representatives passed a resolution congratulating the club, and especially Culbreath, for community service and dedication to people."
